Pay it Foward

Grace has started another round of Pay it Forward. I am paying it forward from Chan's blog.

Pay It Forward is based on the movie with Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey. It was a book first, written by Catherine Ryan Hyde. With all of the things happening these days, random acts of kindness are a good thing. I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I think it will be going into my Netflix queue now :)

This is what the PIF Exchange is all about. I’ll send a knitted gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange! I don’t know what that gift will be yet, and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, maybe not until 2009…LOL… but you will receive it within 365 days, that’s a promise! The only thing you have to do in return is then 'pay it forward' by promising to do the same on your own blog.

I am very excited about this project and I can't wait to see who will comment first :)

Winner!!!!!

I entered my socks in the Alrington County Fair this past week and they won 2nd place!!! I was so proud of them. I called my mom right away to tell her since they were her Spring Forward socks! She was so excited and proud that she was getting award winning socks :)

Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn! I'm doing a KAL with some of my fave ladies, Wendy, Chan, and Stacey for the Anastasia Socks toe up. I have never done toe up, but I'm excited to try it!

Love these amazing colors! Just perfect for my feet!!!
Look who has come out to play, the CLAPPEE!!!!! Oh how I've missed it! I worked on this for a LONG time in the fall, but put it down because I just couldn't bare the thought of how long it was going to take me. Well, I sat down on Monday and realzied that I don't really have that much more to go. I could be done now, but I like my scarves long, and my cousin will too :)

These colors are just fantastic and perfect for the receipiant. She wanted a variety of greens :)

Wendy and I took one of our knitting friends and another of our none knitting friends to A Tangled Skein in MD for a Sunday trip. It was so fun to eat at Franklin's variety store. I picked up a few things for my swap parter as well as a nice ice cube tray that makes skulls and crossbones for my dad!

This is some fantastic yarn I picked up. It's Araucania Ranco Multi in an amazing colorway. I picked it up for socks, but it might turn into something different... Who knows.

All the colors are just fantastic.

These are my Sailor's Delight socks I started a week or so ago. I love them so far. They are Dream in Color Smooshy in the Flamingo Pie colorway. YUM!

Detail shot of the socks..

I have finished the heel and the decrease and I'm moving in on the rest of the foot.

The detail is just fantastic, in my opinion.

My socks are getting better and better the more I knit. It's been the easist project to keep in my small Vera Bradley bag and put in my purse for the bus or even with friends!

My friend Ora has a BEAUITFUL garden of just herbs and peppers. I got out my camera for our weekly Tuesday night dinner and took some pictures of her beautiful peppers. They are HOT!! The brownish pepper is a Chocolate Habenero, on the information tag it says "intensely hot" I will not be trying one of those! :)

I love the detail that my camera can pick up on different things. I'm so glad that I bought my Nikon D60. It's been so fun to practice taking pictures again. I think I'm getting better... slowly!

Hopefully, I'll have a FO after this weekend!!! Wendy and I are going up to her parents campground in PA for a weekend away and a Hog Roast!!! Oh I love a good hog roast. Should I wear the shirt we had made for the last one we had? :) It has a picture of a hog with an apple in its mouth, pretty funny!!!

Package and Blanket

My second package for the Summer of Yarn Love arrived and I can't WAIT to use this yarn! It's just the perfect colors for me :) And I didn't have the book, so that awesome as well!

The colors are so saturated and beautiful!

Here is my red sqaure for Sheep in the City's Barn Blanket for her dad. In progress..

So I finished it... BUT.... I bound off WAY too tight... I plan on fixing this problem this week so I can get it in the mail...

I totally love the book and the concept of the blanket... It might become a blanket I want to make... Maybe :)

I have lots more pictures!!!
