Monkey's, Baby's, New yarn...

Here are the baby monkey's I made to match the regular size monkey's. I made these for my niece Ava and her mom Kristine. I hate that I live so far away from my family (12 hours by car). I like to spoil my niece as much as possible! So I decided to make her a pair of socks. The best part is that her new little sister will be able to wear them when she is born!!!

The moma and baby monkey's together! I recommend this pattern for the Monkey socks because it SO easy! Once you get the hang of it, it goes so quickly! And the baby monkeys are also easy..
I have a good friend that I met at my last job and she is having a baby! She is only going to be able to have 1 baby and it happens to be a boy. She is really excited about having a baby and I decided I needed to do something special for the baby, so I'm making the log cabin blanket from Mason Dixon knitting. It's a great, easy pattern. I am making 6 squares with 3 colors each and alternating the colors. I will then sew them together and make a 6X3 blanket. It will be the perfect size for a new baby boy..

Here is a picture with a perspective to see how big it is.

The is square #3. It's been finished now, and #4 has been started!

I was in need of a new knitting bag and happened to be on Loopy Ewe, when I spotted the perfect bag. It's a Namaste laguna bag. I LOVE IT!! I have been wearing it everyday since I got it. It has space on each side for knitting and then regular purse stuff, then a zipper pocket in the middle for my wallet and other important stuff.

And my new Colinette Jitterbug just happens to be on top! These two colors are fantastic and I can't stop buying more Jitterbug! It's a fantastic yarn for socks :)

23..

This is my 23rd post... That's not that many, but I'm still getting the hang of this whole blogging thing! Today is a BIG update with lots of pictures!

First up is the 5 hats I've knit for a GREAT CAUSE (rav link)! I know that Wendy has more brims for me to knit and I'm sure I will see her this weekend to start knitting on those! It's such and nice and easy project for me to work on while I'm on the bus to and from work... :) There are a few different hat designs in that pile with a variety of colors! Blue, green, cream, black, and purple!

So, while I was in Pittsburgh with Wendy, we made a few stops at some LYS's... Well, I know I'm on this yarn and personal diet, but I couldn't resist. I bought a few thing to enhance my stash.. I do have rules about the yarn... I can't cast on for any projects with any of this yarn until I've completed my challenge..

First up... some Berroco Comfort in a varigated Olive Green colorway... It's such a GREAT yarn for hats..

And some Berroco Comfort in Brown..

I was not even ABLE to pass this up! 2 skeins of Collinette Jitterbug.. YUMMY! It's going to become a Chevron Scarf.. I'm jumping on the bandwagon and I can't wait!

Here is all my Jitterbug! They are all very similar, but that's why I love them. I ordered the one in the middle with my first Loopy Ewe order a few weeks ago... I just can't wait to cast on a beautiful pair of socks with it...

So, we walked into one of the LYS's and these two skeins of Cascade 220 jumped into my hands and I was unable to put them down! They were 30% off and I HAD to get them... I have NO idea what I will make with them... so if you have any ideas, please share... I am thinking of some leg warmers.. but I'm still deciding!

And I told you I would have an FO for you... FINALLY... My FANTASTIC Tofutsies socks! I just LOVED working with this yarn and making socks.. I finally caught the sock bug and I can't wait to get more completed!!

They fit just perfectly! I made the one about 1/2" longer than the first one because I was not paying attention and just kept knitting, but they still look great! Now I need to wear them out :)
